Alan has had a wide variety of media experience in a 25+ year career to date giving him the right blend of skills and ability to manage a select stable of high quality actors. Notable achievements include; being a celebrity manager and celebrity PA for 6 years prior to setting up Hamilton Management, a 22 year career in producing and directing his own documentaries for TV and radio, not to mention working on a wide range of TV shows for other companies. He also has a wealth of experience in representing a wide range of actors, sports personalities and TV experts to date. Alan and his small support team strive daily to generate auditions and opportunities for all Hamilton Management clients.
Alan has secured major brand ambassadorships and endorsements, secured interviews for his own documentaries with a range of VIP’s, he has helped many actors develop their skills and secure major stage and TV drama breakthrough roles. He has had the pleasure to liaise with Downing Street to secure the then Prime Minister’s wife for a major launch event. He has arranged for his clients to lead and support many amazing charity campaigns generating national and international publicity and awareness for campaign messages. He has negotiated and liaised with some of the very best casting directors in the world. He has secured talent for top TV shows for major primetime broadcasters worldwide including HBO and NBC and his clients have filmed globally in Cape Town, Berlin and Budapest. After graduating from Staffordshire University with a degree in media production, Alan hosted his own hospital radio show for 2 years before becoming a runner and production assistant on various TV shows inc meeting many actors along the way in this time. He worked alongside producers, casting teams and production crew on soaps, dramas and documentaries inc C4's Brookside, ITV's Granada Reports and major C4 tribute The Real John Lennon (learning a lot from some of the best in the business at the time). He then produced, researched, directed and co-produced his own documentaries for TV notably interviewing various VIP's ranging from Titanic survivor Millvina Dean to many of the Apollo moonwalkers,pioneering 1960s astronauts and cosmonauts, Sir Patrick Moore to Sir Paul McCartney, Prof Stephen Hawking to Prof Colin Pillinger etc He then became a production manager for a small TV production company working on projects whilst at the same time becoming a celebrity PA and finally a celebrity manager (working stand alone and in harmony with other celebrity and acting agents on selected projects) . Alan secured major brand ambassadorships and endorsements, negotiated personal appearances, acting jobs and co-wrote chapters for a major autobiography for the same celebrity over a dynamic a 6 year period which saw him travel the globe in the process. He has for many years worked with many sporting world champions and Olympic medal winners together with TV personalities on selected projects. He has also produced his own radio documentaries for BBC World Service, casting his own actor clients in the process as appropriate for narration. In 2012 having met many actors, worked on many drama projects and seen the industry from many sides, he then set up Hamilton Management with 1 simple vision. Alan began his career hosting his own radio show for 2 years at North Staffordshire Hospital before becoming a runner and production assistant on various TV shows such as Granada Reports (ITV1), Brookside (C4), Nice Guy Eddie (BBC1), Shine on (C4) Dead Drunk (BBC Education) and 90 minute documentary The Real John Lennon (C4). Prior to this he completed a BA Hon’s Media Production degree at Staffordshire University.
He was independently commissioned with a colleague to produce 3 x 3’ films for The History Channel series ‘A Small Piece Of History’ telling the stories of US heavyweight contender Earnie Shavers fight with Muhammad Ali, the mission of Apollo 7 through the eyes of astronaut Walt Cunningham and the story of Millvina Dean, last survivor of Titanic. The films received 16 broadcasts in the UK and across Europe.
His first acquisition success came when pantomime documentary film ‘Just For Kids?’, was acquired and subsequently re-acquired by Community Channel and seen over 100 times during a 5 year period 2004-2008. The programme produced and directed by Alan was shot in 5 days at 5 pantomime locations and featured interviews with Frazer Hines, Bob Carolgees and Ian Smith (Harold Bishop in TV’s Neighbours).Alan worked well with many panto producers and also featured some in the final film.
On other independent productions he interviewed: Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Patrick Moore, Apollo 16 moonwalker Charlie Duke, John Lennon’s Quarrymen, Albert Einstein’s granddaughter Evelyn Einstein, Dr Gordon Mitchell (son of the Spitfire designer) and Professor Stephen Hawking.
Alan was production manager at Craig Phillips company Avent Productions between 2005 and 2011 during which time he worked on broadcast TV series for Discovery Realtime and British Forces Broadcasting Services. He production managed and secured corporate commissions with clients including Jamie Carragher’s Cafe Sports England, Hodgkinsons International Bricklayers, Flexel International, British Lung Foundation and Tesco.
In 2010 Alan had his first series format commissioned by UKTV Home, ‘Celebrity DIY with Craig Phillips’ a 10 x 30′ series produced by Diesel Films in association with Craig Phillips. Alan was associate producer on the series which saw a second 5 x 30’ series run commissioned in 2011. The series combined DIY with biography with intimate access to the houses and lives of ; Frankie Dettori MBE, Samantha Fox, Russell Grant, Dean Gaffney, Christine and Neil Hamilton, Vic Reeves & Nancy Sorrell, Chesney Hawkes & dad Chip Hawkes of The Tremeloes, Rowland Rivron, Uri Geller, Cheryl Baker, Dane Bowers, Helen Lederer, Lembit Opek, Deena Payne & Linda Robson. Alan worked closely with many of the guests and their representatives to secure exclusive intimate interviews and access into their homes.
Highlights in this time included; working with design teams to oversee a new logo branding, and official website development, securing the then Prime Minister’s wife Cherie Blair to officially open Craig’s building school, assisting on a building school sponsorship deal, securing successful long term endorsements with major DIY and power tool brands, key contributions to the writing of chapters and conceiving the title for a 2009 autobiography, working with a ghost writer and publishing team at Transworld. Securing appearances on numerous TV shows; Ant N Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Celebrity Shock Moments, Daily Cooks Challenge, Loose Women, GMTV, Eggheads and more. Between 2009-2011 Alan secured TV guest spots, radio & media coverage for TV and film star Ricky Tomlinson, 5 time Olympic skier and broadcaster Graham Bell and several Big Brother winners.Alan Hamilton successfully managed TV personality Craig Phillips exclusively for 6 years 2006-201 and was his PA & PR officer 2005-2011.During this time Alan raised and maintained Craig’s profile significantly handling several major endorsements, television and live appearances.

In 2022 one of Alan's actors narrated Alan's production companies first radio commission for the BBC World Service, a short documentary on the Falklands war survivor Simon Weston CBE. The production company www.moonroad.co.uk aims to use actors and presenters from www.alanhamilton.co.uk on all commissioned projects. 2023 saw Alan's production company produce a short documentary for the BBC World Service on the mission of a famous Apollo moonwalker again featuring one of his actor clients narrating. 2024 will see Alan's production company again produce radio documentaries for the BBC.
